Grant Schemes
Farm Resource Efficiency Programme
FREP is a small capital grants programme designed to help farmers improve the overall economic performance of their holding. The scheme aims to improve efficiency through the introduction of new technologies to promote energy, manure and water resource efficiency. The priority areas for the scheme are Less Favoured Areas (LFA) and Nitrate Vulnerable Zone (NVZ) areas, and the priority livestock sectors are dairy, pig and beef sectors.
You may be eligible for a grant towards:
- Renewable power
- Renewable heat
- Rainwater harvesting
- Slurry / Silage store roofs
- Manure management
- Technical fees associated with the above.
Grants of £1,500 up to £25,000 are available, but will not exceed 40% (50% if your farm is within the LFA) of the total cost of the eligible equipment.
