January 2014 - Catchment Sensitive Farming Grant Scheme

31 January 2014

The Catchment Sensitive Farming (CSF) capital grant scheme is open again for applications from 1st February to 31st March 2014.  This is a competitive fund with grants going to applications that best meet the scheme’s priorities and have the greatest environmental benefits.  Grants of up to £10,000 per holding are available and the scheme can pay up to 50% of the cost of the agreed capital works.  Successful applications will be restricted to those within the priority catchment target areas and if you are interested in making a grant application please contact Andrew Hardcastle or Amy Crabtree.

January 2014 - Farming & Forestry Improvement Scheme

31 January 2014

Following on from the success of the previous rounds, the Farming & Forestry Improvement Scheme has re-opened with round three running from 4th February 2014 to 4th April 2014.  Unlike previous rounds they will start processing applications as soon as they arrive, effectively on a first come first served basis.  Only items listed in the applicants hand book are eligible for funding and grant rates can be up to 50% depending on the item and applicant location with a maximum grant of £35,000.  There are five themes in FFIS:  Nutrient Management, Energy Efficiency, Water Management, Animal Health and Welfare and Forestry.  If you wish to discuss the FFIS Grant further please contact Andrew Hardcastle or Amy Crabtree.

January 2014 - Single Payment Scheme Entitlement Trading

20 January 2014

Single payment entitlements are currently trading and if farmers have more entitlements than land to match against them it would be advisable to sell them as only those matched to land on the 2015 forms will be retained as Basic Payment Entitlements under the new scheme, with the remainder being confiscated. If you have surplus Entitlements or require additional Entitlements for 2014 please contact Catherine Johnston or Andrew Hardcastle.
