Basic Payment Key Dates and More

With only 5 days to go until the Basic Payment Scheme application deadline, we hope that the majority of our rural clients have submitted their application or have one of our rural team members with it in hand.

Although we do not advise any changes after this deadline, the Rural Payments Agency offer an extended deadline to 31^st May to make any changes to applications already submitted.

And for any of you (fingers crossed, none) who managed to miss the 15^th May deadline, there is an extended deadline for late BPS applications or late amendments to 10^th June, but this will incur penalties.

On a lighter note, 30^th June brings the end of crop diversification ‘cropping’ period and the end of Ecological Focus Area periods for fallow land and Nitrogen Fixing Crops. And 31^st July see’s anyone within an NVZ for the first time in 2017, must now meet all the NVZ rules.

Last but not least, EFA Catch crops must be established by 20^th August and retained until at least 14^th October and EFA Cover crops must be established by 1^st October and retained until at least 15^th January
