Environmental Schemes and Capital Grant

Environmental Schemes and Capital Grant

This time of year is an ideal time to take stock and begin planning ahead. There is now a full team of Catchment Sensitive Farming Officers (CSFO’s) in place covering Yorkshire, made up of old and new faces. If you are considering Water Capital works, for example concreting or covering muck stores or silage clamps, please get in touch so that we can contact the relevant CSFO to start discussions around options that you are interested in and may be eligible for.

CSFO’s can also give approval for high annual payment options such as arable fields next to vulnerable watercourses being converted to grass. Even if you are not in a High Priority Area for water, advice may be available from the CSFO even though capital works might not be supported.

With all the different strands of the new Environmental Land Management Schemes (ELMS) coming in, such as the Sustainable Farming Incentive which can be entered in addition to existing Countryside Stewardship Schemes, it is good to keep a weather eye open for the schemes that might work well for you and your business.

Contact the Lister Haigh team on 01423 860322 to discuss your options.
