Farming Is Changing

Today DEFRA has published ‘The Path to Sustainable Farming: An Agricultural Transition Plan 2021 to 2024’ which covers the government’s plans for agricultural support and environmental schemes over the next four years.

The paper confirms the reductions to the Basic Payment Scheme with a reduction of 50% by 2024. The monies recovered from this scheme will be directed into a range of new support programmes, environmental schemes and grant funds.
