Farming Rules for Water – Reminder!

Further to our news article back in March 2019, hopefully readers do not need reminding that the Environment Agency’s ‘Farming Rules for Water’ became enforceable from the 2nd April this year.
As a basic recap and for those of you that have managed to miss press coverage of this topic, the Farming Rules for Water require you to assess your pollution risk, undertake soil tests and plan your application of manures and fertilisers. There are 8 rules to adhere to (gov.uk) and they apply whether you are in a Nitrate Vulnerable Zone (NVZ) or not.
We offer support through creating a Farming Rules for Water pack and user guide. This creates a paper trail and records use of manure and fertiliser, so you are always prepared for a potential inspection.
