New capital items are going to be available under the CSS Mid Tier scheme this year for applications with a 2022 start date.
These items include: automatic slurry scrapers, low ammonia emission flooring for livestock buildings and roofing over anaerobic digestate plants.
Low emission flooring includes; sloping flooring with a gutter, grooved flooring and slatted flooring. These designs prevent urine and faeces having contact, which creates the ammonia. However, there has not been specific detail released yet on the specification required for funding of these items under this scheme.
The new regulations will come into action on the 8th February 2021 under ‘The Countryside Stewardship (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2021’.
