The Rural Development Programme for England has opened for applications from Monday 4 November 2019. The RDPE Growth Programme offers grant funding covering up to 40% of eligible costs with a minimum grant of £20,000 up to a maximum grant of €200,000 (approx. £175,000). The grants are available to cover business development, food processing and rural tourism infrastructure. The deadline for expressions of interest is Sunday 16 February 2020.
The priorities under this grant scheme for York, North Yorkshire and East Riding of Yorkshire are to create and improve infrastructure for outdoor activities, particularly projects that develop capacity and activities including cycling, walking, horse riding, canoeing and nature tourism. Also, projects which develop infrastructure to enable visitors to move around the area such as footpaths and cyclepaths and facilities to encourage visitors to stay longer and make return visits. The scheme does not seek to fund new or expanded visitor accommodation.
